“Happy Spring Festival” to be Staged in BiH
--Music and Dance from China’s Inner Mongolia on the occasion of the Chinese New Year
The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people. It is an occasion of happiness and family reunion. This year the Spring Festival falls on 5 February. To celebrate it, the Chinese embassy has invited Xing’An Ensemble to stage performances for the people of BiH.
The Ensemble, coming from the Korqin Prairie of
China’s Inner Mongolia Region, will bring music and dance of the Mongolians, a
nationality famous for its hero Genghis Khan in the 12th and 13th century. Of the repertoire, there are such pieces as Ode to Auspiciousness, depictingthe vast, beautiful and affluent Korqin Prairie and wishing this land of the Mongolians continued blessings ; Korqin Wine, praising the bridging and unifying role of wine and liquor in friends’ gathering; Genghis Khan, singing the life of this brave and restless warrior, who unified different Mongolian tribes and conquered the world on horseback; Wrestler Durenzhana, telling the story of a handsome wrestler, who is like an eagle on the prairie and Polaris shining in the night sky; Spring, describing the longing of a beautiful girl for her lover in the spring season, when flowers are blooming and birds are flying back to the grassland.
The
performances will held in Banja Luka and Sarajevo respectively on 17 and 19
